New Porsche Cayman: Better Than Ever

Porsche Cayman, the coupe version of Boxster. Many people including me never had a sympathy to Cayman. Because, it was not 911! However, as the years passed Cayman looked better than better and 911 look the same. But this is the DNA of the Porsche, 911 looks always the same!

Cayman's design evolved with each new model, its performance also improved and became faster and faster. Actually, many people suggest that Cayman offers better handling than the 911. Because, Cayman is a mid-engine car and it is balanced better. Unfortunately, I never had chance to drive a Cayman or a 911, so it would be impossible to support or reject this view.

Anyway, the new Cayman was announced in LA, USA yesterday and official details are now available. Cayman is powered by a 2.7-lt six-cylinder petrol engine with 275 HP and 290 Nm of torque. Cayman accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.6 seconds with PDF 7-speed double clutch automatic. And the top speed is 264 km/h. 

Cayman S is powered by a 3.4-lt six-cylinder petrol engine with 325 HP and 370 Nm of torque. Only 4.9 seconds is enough to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) with PDK automatic gearbox. And top speed is 281 km/h.

A note; Cayman S shares the same engine with Porsche 911!

Cayman S sounds much better than Cayman in terms of performance and definitely worth the price difference. And Cayman has some new features, such as ACC (radar guided cruise control) and keyless access features. These features definitely improve the experience long journey travel and I strongly advise you to have them.

Overall, Cayman and Cayman S look really great and offer superb performance. With the new technological features, they will be more competitive! And go for the Cayman S ;)
